One of the most intense scenes involving Eugene occurs in Episode 4, when he investigates a mysterious figure in the woods after Wednesday tells him to stay behind. Despite her warning, he goes alone and ends up getting seriously injured in an attack by the Hyde. His injury becomes a major turning point for Wednesday, as she feels responsible for what happened to him, and becomes even more determined to solve the mystery.
